Accessibility Statement
This statement applies to the EasySchool school management platform. We want every pupil, parent and member of staff — including disabled users — to be able to use this service.
What we provide
- Keyboard navigation with visible focus and a skip-to-content link on every page
- Screen-reader support: labelled navigation, forms and status messages
- Text alternatives for images, including AI-generated descriptions of learning materials
- Transcripts for video lessons and voice notes, and captions enabled by default on embedded videos
- Display settings: dyslexia-friendly font (OpenDyslexic), larger text sizes, line spacing, dark mode
- Text-to-speech and speech input (AI tutor voice mode, voice notes with live transcription)
- An "Explain simply" reading helper that rewrites lesson text in easier language
- Reduced-motion support following your device settings, and right-to-left language support
- A dedicated SEN toolkit (ADHD, ASD and memory support tools, audiobooks, study organisers)
Conformance
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA. Automated accessibility checks run on every code change, covering both public and signed-in pages, and an accessibility layer repairs labelling across all screens of the application. Some individual pages may not yet fully conform; we fix issues as we find them.
Known limitations
- Voice input and live transcription depend on your browser (best in Chrome, Edge and Safari)
- Captions on embedded YouTube/Vimeo videos depend on the video having captions available
- Some PDF documents uploaded by schools may not be accessible; ask your school for an alternative format
Feedback and contact
If you cannot access part of this service or need content in another format, contact your school office, or email hello@example.com. We aim to respond within 5 working days.
